Today was the boys 1 year and 3 year doctor check ups. These trips are always an all day thing, because we still drive an hour to Delaware to our favorite Pediatrician. But it is well worth it, Emil has really gotten to know him and trusts him. We don't go to the Doctor's very often so he looks forward to getting up on the big table and getting his heart checked! So sweet, and innocent I wish I felt the same way.So anyway here's what we found out.
Remy: Weight-22pounds 3 ounces....Height-30in...eyes/ears are good...no vaccinations yet.
Emil:Weight-31 1/2 pounds....Height 38in...Had an eye exam (stood against one side of the wall and had to tell the doc what was on the pictures on the other side of the wall, one eye at a time) did great with that...Had an ear exam (put earphones on and had to tell doc when he heard a beep sound and which ear he heard it with) did great with that too so no hearing problems. So when he says "huh" or "what" to me all day it's just because he's not paying attention and not because he can't hear me. He also got his blood pressure taken. Got his first dose of DTP immunization. Now that he is 3 we are starting to give him his shots one at a time so that we get caught up for when he has to go to school. He's so wonderful though, he doesn't even know when the Doc gives him a shot, he doesn't know the word shot or what it looks like or anything. He's distracted enough with Remy there and suckers etc...It's great that way, so there is no tears. He'll be sore tomorrow but that's what Motrin's for. Doc said that Emil was really smart for his age, which of course made me proud...he just loves to tell random people all about his life and how old he and Remy are, and how many cars he got to bring with him. Quite the chatter box!
So the boys are healthy as expected.
